Marvel Studios' Spider-Man 3 is bringing back Jamie Foxx's Electro, a Sony's The Amazing Spider-Man 2 villain, which didn't make it up to its sequel of the 3rd film, with the actor in final talks to reprise his Amazing Spider-Man 2 role.
Big news today with a special report from THR that Jamie Fox who had been known for the Spider-Man franchise in The Amazing Spider-Man 2 in 2014 as Max Dillon aka the Electro, the Spider-Man villain in the sequel of Andrew Garfield Spider-Man, Mr. Fox has been reported in talks with Marvel Studio to reprise his role as the character Electro in the 3rd films of Tom Holland Spider-Man in the MCU.
Since then, Sony Pictures and Marvel Studio shared their character crossover of the Spider-Man franchise to appear in the MCU in Captain America: Civil War 2016, in which Spider-Man was a reboot, new actor, new storyline, and everything. And Tom Holland debuted as the Marvel Cinematic Universe's Spider-Man in 2016's Captain America: Civil War, with five movies in 2019 Spider-Man Far From Home, the first-ever Spider-Man movie to reach $1B in the box office.
After the controversy between Sony Picture, who owned the right to Spider-Man, and Marvel Studio, Tom Holland is cleared to confirm that he has two more movies in the MCU, the sequel 3rd Spider-Man movie and his appearance in either once of Marvel movies. But fan speculation about the future of the two big movie companies is more than we ever thought that was, which Sony seems interesting to have more crossover events between their characters and the Marvel characters.
Now, THR is reporting that Foxx is in final talks to appear in Sony and Marvel Studios' Spider-Man 3 as the villain Electro. Marvel declined to comment on the story. According to THR, Spider-Man 3 story details are under wraps and it's unclear how he'll fit into the MCU movie.
Of course that this isn't the first time to have Sony's previous actors to reprise their roles in the MCU Spider-Man franchise, one of the biggest things that lasted by the end of Spider-Man far from home which featured J.K. Simmon aka J. Johna Jameson in the Sam Ramie Spider-Man as the same character in the MCU movie, but it would have a much more surprised to Jamie Fox returns as Electro because it could be a good sign of the collaboration between the two company.
Wheater Disney, the company that owns Marvel Studio to buy Sony or not, we could potentially have the live-action Spider-Verse, the multiverse event in the cartoon version of Spider-Man: Into the Spider-verse, which is the appearance of Spider-Man: Miles Morales.
One way or another, with WandaVision and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness expected to fully introduce the concept of the multiverse to the MCU, it's possible Electro in Spider-Man 3 could be explained in that way. If that were the case, it would establish The Amazing Spider-Man and Spider-Man: Tobey Maguire as they exist in the multiverse. But, it's not yet known whether that's how Spider-Man 3 will introduce Electro to the MCU. For now, more details will need to be revealed about the Spider-Man 3 story before it's clear how Electro fits in. But Hopefully, I wish to have Electro solo movie first before they established him as a Spider-Man villain or perhaps, the Sinister Six adaptation.
